徐濤研究員，中國科學(xué)院院士、發(fā)展中國家科學(xué)院院士，廣州實(shí)驗(yàn)室常務(wù)副主任，生物島實(shí)驗(yàn)室主任，生物大分子國家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室主任，國家杰出青年科學(xué)基金獲得者。徐濤院士于1992年、1996年在華中科技大學(xué)分別獲得學(xué)士學(xué)位和博士學(xué)位；1996年至1999年在德國馬克思-普朗克生物物理化學(xué)研究所做博士后；1999年至2000年在美國華盛頓大學(xué)生理與生物物理系做高級(jí)研究員；2000年6月回國擔(dān)任華中科技大學(xué)生命科學(xué)與技術(shù)學(xué)院生物物理與生物化學(xué)研究所所長(zhǎng)；2007年任中國科學(xué)院生物物理所所長(zhǎng)，生物大分子國家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室主任；2017年任中國科學(xué)院大學(xué)副校長(zhǎng)，同年當(dāng)選中國科學(xué)院院士；2018年任中國科學(xué)院前沿科學(xué)與教育局局長(zhǎng)，同年當(dāng)選發(fā)展中國家科學(xué)院院士；2019年任生物島實(shí)驗(yàn)室主任；2021年任廣州實(shí)驗(yàn)室常務(wù)副主任。

徐濤院士長(zhǎng)期致力于結(jié)合交叉學(xué)科新技術(shù)和新方法，深入探究疾病分子標(biāo)志物、闡述疾病發(fā)生機(jī)制并開發(fā)新型藥物靶點(diǎn)。近年來，在超分辨顯微成像技術(shù)、超靈敏單分子檢測(cè)技術(shù)及囊泡轉(zhuǎn)運(yùn)分子機(jī)制研究等領(lǐng)域中取得了突破性進(jìn)展，成果發(fā)表在Cell、Cell Metabolism、Nature Cell Biology、Nature Methods、Nature Communications、Neuron、J Cell Biology、PNAS等高水平雜志上，獲批專利多項(xiàng)。曾獲中國五四青年獎(jiǎng)?wù)?、國家自然科學(xué)二等獎(jiǎng)、何梁何利科學(xué)與技術(shù)進(jìn)步獎(jiǎng)、談家楨生命科學(xué)創(chuàng)新獎(jiǎng)、美國李氏基金杰出成就獎(jiǎng)、全國創(chuàng)新爭(zhēng)先獎(jiǎng)、全國先進(jìn)工作者等榮譽(yù)稱號(hào)。

Brief Introduction of Professor Tao Xu

Professor Tao Xu is a principle investigator (PI) at Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He is a member of Chinese Academy of Sciences,the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS). He is now the deputy director of Guangzhou Laboratory, the director of Bioland Laboratory, the director of the National Laboratory of Biomacromolecules, National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. Professor Xu obtained his B.S degree in 1992 and Ph.D degree in 1996 from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. From 1996 to 1999, he took the postdoctoral training at Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, Germany. From 1999 to 2000, he was a senior fellow at the Department of Physiology and Biophysics, University of Washington, USA. In 2000, he became a professor and the director at Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. He became the director of Institute of Biophysics, CAS in 2007 and the vice president of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), China in 2017. He is now the director of Bioland Laboratory, the deputy director of Guangzhou Laboratory. He has won many awards including the 10th May 4th Youth Medal, National Natural Science Award (the Second Class), Ho Leung Ho Lee award, The Life Science Innovation Award of the CC.Tan Foundation, Li Foundation Heritage Prize, USA, et al.

Professor Xu’s research mainly focus on developing novel super-resolution imaging tools in combination with spectroscopic, biophysical and electron microscopy techniques and using these state-of-the-art technologies to uncover the key proteins and regulatory mechanisms involved in the docking, priming and fusion of different secretary vesicles, particularly large dense-core vesicles (DCVs) and GLUT4 storage vesicles (GSVs).His group has made a number of ground breaking discoveries in the field and many of the discoveries have been published in Cell, Cell Metabolism, Nature Cell Biology, Nature Methods, Nature Communications, Neuron, J Cell Biology, PNAS.
