時(shí) 間:2017.10.24(周二)14:00   地 點(diǎn):武漢大學(xué)櫻頂老圖書(shū)館   主講人:Tom Simpson 英國(guó)皇家學(xué)會(huì)、愛(ài)丁堡皇家學(xué)會(huì) 院士          David O’Hagan 愛(ài)丁堡皇家學(xué)會(huì) 院士   題 目:NEW drugs from OLD pathways - Teaching Nature New Tricks和The  fluorinase: My PET project   主講人簡(jiǎn)介:   Tom Simpson教授1969年畢業(yè)于英國(guó)愛(ài)丁堡大學(xué)獲學(xué)士學(xué)位,1973年畢業(yè)于英國(guó)布里斯托大學(xué)獲博士學(xué)位。曾先后在澳大利亞國(guó)立大學(xué)和英國(guó)利物浦大學(xué)完成博士后研究,1978年在英國(guó)愛(ài)丁堡大學(xué)任教。1988年作為當(dāng)時(shí)最年輕的有機(jī)化學(xué)教授任教于英國(guó)萊斯特大學(xué),1990年回到英國(guó)布里斯托大學(xué)從事研究工作。在此期間,榮獲英國(guó)皇家化學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)Corday-Morgan和“天然產(chǎn)物化學(xué)”獎(jiǎng)?wù)?,以及Tilden、Simonsen和Hugo Muller獎(jiǎng)勵(lì),最近榮獲Rita-John Cornforth跨學(xué)科研究獎(jiǎng)。Tom Simpson教授主要致力于重要微生物天然產(chǎn)物化學(xué)和生物合成機(jī)制的研究。他于2001年當(dāng)選為英國(guó)皇家學(xué)會(huì)院士,2006年當(dāng)選為愛(ài)丁堡皇家學(xué)會(huì)院士,并于2015年獲愛(ài)丁堡大學(xué)榮譽(yù)理學(xué)博士。   David O’Hagan教授1982年畢業(yè)于英國(guó)格拉斯哥大學(xué)獲學(xué)士學(xué)位,1985年畢業(yè)于英國(guó)南安普敦大學(xué)獲博士學(xué)位,之后在美國(guó)俄亥俄州立大學(xué)從事博士后研究,師從國(guó)際著名天然產(chǎn)物專(zhuān)家Heinz G. Floss教授。1986-2000年期間在英國(guó)杜倫大學(xué)從事天然產(chǎn)物生物合成和有機(jī)佛化學(xué)的研究工作,并于2000年擔(dān)任英國(guó)圣安德魯斯大學(xué)教授和有機(jī)化學(xué)系主任。他主要致力于有機(jī)氟化合物合成、有機(jī)氟酶學(xué)和有機(jī)氟材料的研究。他于2001年當(dāng)選為英國(guó)皇家化學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)士,2004年當(dāng)選為愛(ài)丁堡皇家學(xué)會(huì)院士。2005年被授予英國(guó)皇家化學(xué)會(huì)Malcolm Campbell藥物化學(xué)紀(jì)念獎(jiǎng),2006年和2009年分別獲英國(guó)皇家化學(xué)會(huì)Tilden獎(jiǎng)和“天然產(chǎn)物報(bào)告”獎(jiǎng),2012年獲美國(guó)化學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)“氟化學(xué)創(chuàng)新獎(jiǎng)”,2013年獲英國(guó)皇家學(xué)會(huì)Wolfson研究功勛獎(jiǎng)。   Brief Introduction of Professor Tom Simpson and David O’Hagan   Tom Simpson graduated from University of Edinburgh with Bachelor of Science in 1969 and gained his Ph.D. from University of Bristol in 1973. After post-doctoral work in the Australian National University and University of Liverpool, he was appointed Lecturer in Edinburgh in 1978. He moved to Leicester in 1988, at the time the youngest Professor of Organic Chemistry in the UK, and then to Bristol in 1990. He has been awarded the Royal Society of Chemistry Corday-Morgan and Natural Products Chemistry medals and the Tilden, Simonsen and Hugo Muller lectureships and, most recently, the Rita and John Cornforth Award for interdisciplinary research.  He works on the chemistry and biosynthesis of biologically important microbial natural products. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2001, Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (FRSE) in 2006, and received an Honorary D.Sc. from Edinburgh in 2015.

Professor David O’Hagan studied chemistry at the University of Glasgow, graduating in 1982. He carried out a Ph.D. (1985) at the University of Southampton and then spent a postdoctoral year at the Ohio State University with Professor Heinz G. Floss. In 1986 he was appointed to the University of Durham where he explored natural product biosynthesis but also developed a strong interest in organo-fluorine chemistry. He remained at Durham until 2000 before moving to his current position as Professor and Head of Organic Chemistry at the University of St Andrews. His research interests extend from the synthesis and properties of organo-fluorine compounds, fluorination enzymology and through to fluorinated organic materials. He became the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) in 2001, Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh (FRSE) in 2004. He was awarded the RSC Malcolm Campbell Memorial Prize in Medicinal Chemistry in 2005, was a recipient of the RSC Tilden Medal in 2006/was the RSC ‘Natural Product Reports Award’ Lecturer in 2009, and was awarded the American Chemical Society (ACS) Award for ‘Creative Work in Fluorine Chemistry’ in 2012. He received a Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award in 2013.

Brief Introduction of Professor Roger Falcone

Roger Falcone is a professor of physics at the University of California, Berkeley and the director of the Advanced Light Source x-ray synchrotron facility at Lawrence Berkeley Lab. His research group uses high-energy lasers, short-pulse lasers, and x-ray free electron lasers to study the interaction of light with matter. Their work includes the use of powerful lasers to create matter under extreme conditions of pressure and temperature, and the use of ultrashort laser pulses to study chemical dynamics. Recent work includes the study of ionization under shock compression of matter at pressures up to a billion-atmospheres, and the study of new chemistry and structures. He chairs the advisory board of the Paul Scherrer Institute and the faculty advisory committee of the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley (a science center focused on K-12 education), and serves on a variety of international advisory committees in the US, Asia, and Europe. He is the incoming president of the American Physical Society (2018), and is a fellow of the Optical Society of America, the American Physical Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

主講人簡(jiǎn)介:

陳維江,男,1958年生于山東淄博,教授,博士生導(dǎo)師,中共黨員,國(guó)家電網(wǎng)公司交流建設(shè)部副主任,享受?chē)?guó)務(wù)院政府特殊津貼專(zhuān)家,973首席科學(xué)家,中國(guó)科學(xué)院院士。1982年畢業(yè)于合肥工業(yè)大學(xué)電力系統(tǒng)及其自動(dòng)化專(zhuān)業(yè),長(zhǎng)期從事電力系統(tǒng)電磁暫態(tài)分析、雷電防護(hù)、絕緣配合和先進(jìn)輸電技術(shù)等方面的研究工作。潛心于雷電接閃放電理論與防護(hù)技術(shù)研發(fā),其成果在電力、軌道交通等系統(tǒng)廣泛應(yīng)用。2008年獲國(guó)家技術(shù)發(fā)明二等獎(jiǎng)1項(xiàng)(排名1);作為國(guó)家973計(jì)劃首席科學(xué)家,主持攻克了特高壓電磁與絕緣特性基礎(chǔ)難題,2012年獲國(guó)家科技進(jìn)步特等獎(jiǎng)1項(xiàng)(排名2),2013年獲中國(guó)電力杰出貢獻(xiàn)獎(jiǎng);2013年獲聘為中國(guó)科協(xié)首席科學(xué)傳播專(zhuān)家;獲國(guó)家發(fā)明專(zhuān)利23項(xiàng),發(fā)表EI、SCI 論文80余篇。2015年當(dāng)選為中國(guó)科學(xué)院院士?,F(xiàn)主要研究方向有:雷擊放電及防護(hù);電磁兼容;先進(jìn)輸配電技術(shù)。
